The Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Hon. Jite Brown, has announced the time limit of the movement of motorbikes popularly called ‘Okada’ in the local government area.

This was made known in a press release signed by the council secretary, Mr. Samuel Dawho.

According to the statement, the resolution to restrict the movement of motorbikes was reached at a peace and security meeting held at the office of the chairman at the local government secretariat in Otor Udu, the headquarters of the local government area.

The statement explained that the movement of motorbikes would be restricted from 8.00 pm to 6.00 am daily and would take effect from July 1, 2023.

It stated that the restriction became necessary as a result of the need to curb the use of bikes to perpetuate evil, especially at night in the area.

The statement advised private bike owners to provide means of identification or covering notes for seamless movement.
