Members of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) have been admonished to strive for self-development toward relevance after service.

The functioning Permanent Secretary (PS) in the Ministry of Information, Mr. Lucky Omokri, stated this during a send-forth party, organized for the 2022/2023 Batch B, Stream 2 NYSC members in the ministry.

Omokri said the outgoing NYSC members should upgrade their skills and be more focused on life pursuits, saying that the present world is very challenging, just as he charged them to utilize their skills for self-employment.

He congratulated them on the completion of the service year and thanked God for keeping them safe and healthy, just as he commended them for their diligence throughout the one-year period of service in the ministry.

The functioning PS also commended the effort of the NYSC members for the major role they played during the send-forth party for the outgone Commissioner for Information.

While urging the outgoing NYSC members to emulate the already existing tradition of peace and oneness in the ministry, he asked them to always be good ambassadors of the ministry in their future endeavours.

He advised them to put in their best in whatever they do and wished them all the best in life, most especially as they go into society.

One of the NYSC members, Miss Jovita Opara, in her vote of thanks, expressed gratitude to the immediate past Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, the functioning PS and the entire staff of the ministry for treating them as family members.

The high point of the ceremony was the presentation of gifts by the functioning PS to the NYSC members, the NYSC members in turn, also presented gifts to him.
