Edo State Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa Esq., has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to ensuring the security of lives and property of the citizens.

The Head of Service made this known recently when he decorated two newly promoted policemen and an officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) attached to his office.

Okungbowa reassured that the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration places premium on issues of security in the state because of its importance to social and economic development, noting that the office appreciates the value the officers add to the security architecture of the state.

He said the newly promoted officers deserved their new ranks taking into cognizance their hard work and integrity demonstrated over time in the course of performing assigned duties.

“Please continue to put up the hard work and diligence you have demonstrated in the course of performing your duties so you can go higher,” he charged.

The newly promoted policemen are Iliyasu Tanko and Osuman Solomon, both of whom were promoted from the rank of Sergeant to Inspector, while Momodu Kebiru, an NSCDC officer, was promoted from the rank of Inspector to Assistant Superintendent.

High point of the ceremony was the decoration of the three officers with their respective new ranks by the Head of Service assisted by the Permanent Secretary (General Services), Office of the Head of Service, Mrs Pricillia Aziegbemhin.
