The Ag. Comptroller General of Customs (CGS), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, has extended his warmest wishes to all Nigerians, stating that this joyous occasion is a pointer to the values of sacrifice, compassion, and unity.
This was contained in a press statement signed by Abdullahi Maiwada, Chief Superintendent of Customs, National Public Relations Officer, and made available via its Official Twitter handle on Wednesday.
The Ag. CGC enjoins all Nigerians to embrace the life of service exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) adding that the values of sacrifice and duty are necessary to build the nation of our dream.
“I wish to advise that we come together, united as one, to celebrate the spirit of Eid-el-Adha by sharing the joyous moments with our loved ones and taking time to appreciate the blessings we have been granted,” he explained.
The CGC encouraged all officers and men to use this season to reflect on the sacred responsibilities which God has placed on them to serve as catalysts in Nigeria’s economic growth and development, admonishing the officers to demonstrate the importance of compassion and generosity, not only towards their immediate family and friends but also to those in need.
He reiterated his commitment to implementing pragmatic steps that will shape a brighter future predicated on our dear nation’s safety, security, and economic stability. Amidst the demands of such duties, the CGC harps on the need to reflect on the significance of this festive season.
While pledging for better service delivery on behalf of his management team and the entire workforce of the Nigeria Customs Service, the Ag. CGC prayed that this auspicious occasion will be an Eid that will illuminate hearts to the path of righteousness.
