Greater than Ronaldo! Osimhen becomes the most expensive player in Serie A history.

With everything pointing to Osimen’s leaving this summer, Italian Serie A champions Napoli may lose superstar Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, but they seem to have a contingency plan as evident in their recent move of completing a permanent deal for Argentina striker Giovanni Simeone, Soccernet reports.

Osimhen was the best striker in Italy last season. He scored 26 goals in the Serie A to become the first African player to win the Capocannoniere. His brilliance also earned Napoli their first Scudetto in 33 years.

Osimhen’s brilliance has attracted serious interest from clubs abroad, as PSG, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea have all been linked with a potential transfer.

Napoli would demand at least € 150 million from potential suitors for the deal to happen. But that could be a difficult ask.

Nonetheless, there is still a risk of losing Osimhen, and Napoli would have to make plans to ensure that his departure is not felt.

The club has officially signed Simeone from Hellas Verona. The Argentine forward spent last season on loan at Napoli, and he registered nine goals and one assist in 33 appearances.

He played second fiddle to Nigerian Victor Osimhen for most of last season. But with Osimhen’s likely exit, Giovanni may become the main man for the Partenopeans.

Osimhen is a top target for many top European clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, PSG, and Bayern Munich. The former Lille man was previously valued at € 100 million per transfermarkt.

However, Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen’s value has increased by another €20 to €120m breaking the Serie A record, to become the highest-valued player in Serie A. But Napoli are looking to demand €150million for the Super Eagles.
