Following reports of incessant stealing of motorcycles in Boji-Boji, Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State, two young men in their 30s who allegedly stole a motorcycle have been lynched by an irate mob.

It was gathered that the two men were apprehended while trying to steal a motorcycle parked in a popular eatery along the Old Lagos-Asaba Road.

As at the time of this report, details of the incident were still sketchy. It was however believed that the suspects came from one of the states in the east to carry out the robbery but ran out of luck, were caught and lynched.

A resident of the locality identified as Mr. Obodo, expressed his worries over the incessant cases of motorcycle theft in the locality.

“I have been a victim twice. What baffles me the most is that these miscreants kill or inflict various degrees of injuries on their victims, besides making away with the bikes.

“They go about looking for new bikes to steal. I don’t know the chemical they use in breaking locks or how they can lift a bike out of a tall fence without stress.

“I am not happy with what happened to these fellows, but the issue is that when they are arrested by security operatives, they usually find their way back to the society and continue to commit havoc,” he lamented.

As at the time of filing the report, the Delta Police Command was yet to respond to the ugly incident.
