The Chairman of Udu Local Government Council in Delta State, Hon. Jite Brown, has been commended by the residents of Udu for fixing up failed portions of roads in the council area.

The Secretary of the Concern Youth for Good Governance in Udu, Temple Eteyebe, and others gave the commendations while addressing newsmen in Udu.

He said the gesture in fixing up the roads in the community would ease human and vehicular movements.

While lauding the council boss, Simon Ogoyibo, a member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Udu Chapter, said commercial motorists highly appreciated the good work of the council chairman for saving them the hassle of driving through the many failed portions along the resurfaced roads, especially at the ever busy Ubogo Junction, where pot holes always caused serious traffic gridlock.

Commending the chairman, the Supervisory Councillor for Works in Udu, Lucky Jitokun, disclosed that the council chairman had decided to continue to rehabilitate failed portions of all the roads in Udu.

According to Jitokun, inventories of such roads had been taken and provision made to fix them up, saying that it was in quick response to the demand of the people.
