Finally, police arrest man who displayed ex-lovers’ nude photos
A man whose name was given as Amarah Kennedy, accused of displaying nude photos of women he had dated, has been arrested in Lagos.
Police sources say Kennedy was arrested by the Gender Unit of the Nigeria Police.
Sources say the accused will soon appear in court to explain his activities and meet with judicial decision.
Kennedy is alleged to have dated several single women, obtained their nude photos in the process of the romance, only to later turn around and extort money from his ex-lovers with the threat of causing them embarrassment and public ridicule by posting their nude photos in the public domain.
Police sources say such practice is aclear definition of blackmail and is actionable in court.
“When they would stop sending him money, he would send the photos to someone on Facebook,” the source said.
“He would go to the lady’s Facebook page and send one of the photos to her friends. When she finds out, she would quickly send him money.
“He continued to do that until he sent it to the church WhatsApp group of a widow. He also sent it to the lady’s late husband’s in-laws.”
Only two of about 10 ladies who were victims of Kennedy’s alleged exploitation are willing to pursue his prosecution, it is said.
