In a bid to enhance effective policing, professionalism, and maintain law and order across country, the Acting Inspector-General of Police, Ag. IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has ordered the deployment of thirty-five (35) Commissioners of Police (CPs) to various state commands and formations.

According to a press release signed by CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer and made available via its official Twitter handle, the deployment comes after the approval of the IGP’s recommendation by the Police Service Commission.

CSP Adejobi stated that the newly posted CPs are expected to align themselves with the vision and mission of the Nigerian Police Force as they take up their new positions, pointing out that one of the primary directives given to the CPs is to prioritize the safety and well-being of the citizens they serve, ensuring fairness, professionalism, and respect for human rights.

Among the notable appointments are CP Adelesi E. Oluwarotimi, who has been posted to the Kwara State Command, and CP Adebola Ayinde Hamzat, fdc, who will head the Oyo State Command.

Other appointments include CP Augustina N. Ogbodo to the Ebonyi State Command, CP Samuel Titus Musa to the Kebbi State Command, CP Aderemi Olufemi Adeoye to the Anambra State Command, CP Auwal Musa to the Bauchi State Command, and CP Alamatu Abiodun Mustapha to the Ogun State Command.

In addition to these state commands, the statement added that other CPs have been assigned to key roles within the Nigerian Police Force. CP Margaret Ochalla will be stationed at the Police Special Fraud Unit Annex Lagos, CP Banji Ogunrinde will head the Explosive Ordnance Unit, CP Rhoda A. Olofu will take charge of the Ports Authority Police Western, Lagos, and CP Kareem Musa will oversee Interpol Annex Lagos.

Furthermore, CP Audu Dabigi has been assigned to the Border Patrol Force, CP Abibo D. Reuben, fsi, will lead the Police Mobile Force, CP Adekunle Ismaila Olusokan will join the Welfare FHQ Abuja, CP Omolara Ibidun Oloruntola will serve at the Special Fraud Unit FCID Abuja, and CP Abaniwonda S. Olufemi will assume the position of Deputy Force Secretary, among others.

As the newly deployed CPs assume their duties, the IGP emphasizes the importance of their adherence to the principles of fairness, professionalism, and respect for human rights.

He also calls upon them to be exemplary leaders, fostering harmonious relationships with other security agencies, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders.

Additionally, the IGP expects the CPs to champion intelligence-led policing, proactive crime prevention strategies, and community engagement initiatives that will contribute to public trust and confidence in the Nigerian Police Force.

CSP Adejobi further stated that the deployment of these CPs reflects the commitment of the police leadership to bolstering security and ensuring the safety of all citizens.
