Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has directed the Ministry of Works in the state to study and urgently effect repair works on the erosion-plagued Umeh Road in Isoko South Local Government Area of the State.

The 7.1km Umeh Road and Bridge being threatened by erosion was built and inaugurated by the Emmanuel Uduaghan administration in 2015 to link the community to the East-West Road and other parts of the State.

Oborevwori’s intervention is in response to appeals by the affected community, the Isoko Development Union, IDU, and a prominent son of the community, Chief Duncan Afahokor.

They urged the Governor to act swiftly in other to rescue the community from being cut off from the rest of the State.

Governor Oborevwori on receipt of the appeals, promptly directed the Ministry of Works to study the situation with a view to proffering an immediate solution.

The ministry has sent engineers to the site and appropriate steps are being taken to remedy the situation.
