Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to establishing the state as a vibrant tourism destination by harnessing the richness of its diverse cultures. The governor made this known during the Sallah Nko-festival in Lafiagi, Edu Local Government Area.

Highlighting the state’s cultural wealth, Governor AbdulRazaq emphasized its potential to attract tourists and stimulate the local economy. The Sallah Nko-festival, an annual sociocultural gathering, serves as a platform for the sons and daughters of Lafiagi Emirate, including village heads, to pay homage to the Emir as part of the Eid celebration.

During this year’s event, notable individuals were honoured with chieftaincy titles in recognition of their significant contributions to the community. Governor AbdulRazaq expressed his commitment to promoting the region’s culture, envisioning a more elaborate celebration next year.

He invited Nigerians from all walks of life to visit Lafiagi, just as they do for the renowned Ilorin Durbar, highlighting the presence of an airport for convenient travel.
