A prophetic church in Benin City, Edo State capital, Victory of Nazareth Miracle Centre, on Wednesday held a free medical care outreach covering checking of vitals, sugar level, general checkup, eye checkup and dispensing of free drugs.

The medical outreach, which was part of the church’s youth convention week, saw about 90 persons with various medical needs being attended to by the medical personnel present.

Speaking on the medical outreach, the youth president, Mr Osamudiamen Otoghile, said health was one of the key areas that the youth convention focuses on.

“It’s a developmental programme and to carry this out, the youth had to organize a free medical outreach for the church and people outside the church with trained doctors and nurses available,” Otoghile said.

He further said the Wednesday outing was just the beginning as the free medical outreach would still continue.

“It will be good if some churches can emulate same idea. In doing this, we will also be able to assist the government to reach out to the less privileged ones in our various communities,” he said.

One of the beneficiaries, who identified himself as Mr John, appreciated the church and the youth for the free medical outreach.

According to Mr John, he was in his shop when some youth from the church came to invite him for the free medical care. He had to leave the shop and go to the church so as to seize the opportunity of the free consultation and free drugs to cater to his health needs, especially his eye checkup.

“On getting to the church, I really loved what I saw and am happy with the way I was attended to. I pray for the church and the youth of Victory of Nazareth Miracle Centre,” he said.
