The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) released an official statement on its official website on Thursday, August 17, 2023, where it confirmed that Tobi Amusan, the reigning World 100m hurdles champion and record holder. has been cleared of the anti-doping allegation that was leveled against her.

With the official clearance, the 26-year-old can now compete at the Budapest 2023 World Athletics Championships set to begin on Saturday, August 19, in Hungary, and defend the momentous gold medal she earned last year at the 18th edition of the Championships.

Earlier, the World Athletics has, however, clarified that her name was on the entry list for the competition released last week, but with the provision that participation would depend on the outcome of the charge against her by the AIU.

According to AIU, though not impressed with the outcome, the body will review the judgment before going to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
