The past week saw various Nigerian artistes release songs and bodies of work to fans. Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, professionally known as Burna Boy, was not left out as he released his anticipated studio album ‘I Told Them’.

The body of work since its release has gone to create records and history in the music sphere. The album got over 9 million streams on the first day of release, going to become the highest streaming Afrobeats project for first day streams.

Also since the day of its release, Burna Boy has moved to the 3rd position, up from 36th position, on the global digital rankings, making him the highest peaking African artist on the platform.

Furthermore, the body of work has charted in over 120 countries’ Apple Music charts in the world and reaching the 1st position in over 66 countries.

Before the album’s release, the self-acclaimed African giant had come under fire for saying in an interview that Afrobeats currently lacks substance.
