The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, has said the state government is enjoying robust relationship with philanthropic organizations.

Onyeme made the disclosure on Tuesday when members of the Lions Club, District 404/A4 paid him a visit at his office, Government House, Asaba.

According to him, the Sheriff Oborevwori administration was partnering with philanthropic organizations and individuals contributing positively to the development of the state in particular and humanity in general.

He stated that Oborevwori was running an inclusive government that is encouraging individuals and organizations to play their roles in the development of the state.

“The state government will do more to encourage the partnership that exists with philanthropic organization in our commitment to the development of our state,” Onyeme said.

“What you are doing as a club, the Lions Club International, is to make the society better and our administration is encouraging such clubs as yours and individuals not to relent in making contributions to the development of our state. This is our government and we should all make contributions for our state to be better,” he said.

Onyeme, who is a member of Lions Club, commended members of the club for their support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during and after the elections, assuring them of improved relationship between the state government and the club.

Earlier, Lion Mrs Fortune Wagbatsoma, past District Governor, Lions Clubs District 404-A1, said that the visit was to congratulate Sir Onyeme on his successful assumption of duty as the Deputy Governor of Delta State.

Wagbatsoma, while thanking the deputy governor on behalf of the club, pledged the club’s support for the Oborevwori-led administration.

The wife of the Deputy Governor, Lion Ezinne Katherine Onyeme, the member representing Ndokwa West Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Charles Emetulu, and the Deputy Chief of Staff, Sir Christopher Osakwe, were among the dignitaries present at the occasion.
