Delta State Government (DTSG) has commenced the rehabilitation of failed sections on Uti Road in Uvwie Local Government Area of the state.
Some of the residents in the area who spoke to newsmen on Tuesday, August 1st, 2023, expressed joy and appreciation to the governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, over the gesture, stressing that though long overdue, it was a welcome development.
One Mr. Milkel Okwendi commended the state governor for coming to their aid, adding that Uti Road had been in a poor state for over two years without any attention from the relevant authorities.
He stated that economic activities in the area had been very poor due to the deplorable state of the road, adding that some businessmen and women had relocated to other areas.
Mr. Justice, a tricycle operator, described some of the failed sections on the road as small gullies that had been damaging their tricycles and other vehicles and commended the state government for bringing relief to them.
He made a passionate appeal to the relevant authorities to ensure that the contractor handling the project delivered the job to specifications.
