The Board of Trustees of Agbor Community Union (ACU) has harped on the need for government to continue to give more attention to health in the state.

Members of the Board spoke during a tour of the Central Hospital Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Tuesday.

The group, led by Mr. Fidelis Monye, includes Chief Philip Igumbor, Prof Joseph Alika, Chief Henrietta Ajuebon-Egbarin, Chief Larry Onyeche and Comrade Jonathan Ojobu.

Speaking at the event, the leader of the group, Mr. Fidelis Monye, noted that they were at the hospital to see what was on ground and how to make their input.

He commended the efforts of the state government, individuals and groups for their various roles towards the development of the hospital.

Speaking further, he appealed to the Delta State Government to address the challenge of inadequate manpower which has lingered for too long in the hospital.

“In the course of our visit, we discovered a lot. We believe if government should give the hospital a facelift with modern equipment, it will be for the good of all,” Monye said.

He noted that if the listed challenges were adequately addressed, the Central Hospital, Agbor will be one of the best hospitals in the state.

Continuing, Mr. Monye applauded the Zonal Medical Director, Dr. Nkechi Albert, and the entire staff of the hospital for the efforts in sustaining the standard of the hospital.

He urged them to sustain the cordial relationship between the hospital management and the host community.

Also speaking, Dr. Albert thanked the elders for their visit.
