Major General Muhammed Usman, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 81 Division Nigerian Army, has reaffirmed the commitment to further enhance collaboration with sister services and security agencies to maintain peace and security within the 81 Division Area of Responsibility.

This assurance came during a courtesy visit by Rear Admiral Muhammad Abdullahi, the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) of Western Naval Command, Lagos, to Headquarters 81 Division.

The GOC praised the already existing cordial relationship between the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Navy, highlighting the importance of bolstering this relationship for the nation’s interest.

He credited the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen TA Lagbaja, for continuously encouraging Nigeria Army officers and soldiers to uphold professionalism during joint operations, which has contributed to maintaining the status quo and further boosting cooperation with other members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and security agencies.

General Usman emphasized the significance of constant communication between the two services for better understanding, a key aspect of successful joint operations.

Rear Admiral Abdullahi, on his part, stated that his visit aimed to familiarize himself with the officers and soldiers of the Division since assuming the role of the 43rd FOC of Western Naval Command.

He underscored the need for synergy among all branches of the Armed Forces of Nigeria to achieve successful outcomes, acknowledging that no single service can tackle all challenges alone.

He also extended warm congratulations to General Usman on his recent appointment as the 24th GOC of 81 Division of Nigeria Army, wishing him a fruitful tenure.
