Poised to ensure that Edo State is a safe destination for ease-of-doing business and guarantee the safety of locals, the Edo State Government under the leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki has donated 50 motorcycles to Edo State Security Network, (ESSN) in Igarra the administrative headquarters of Akoko-Edo LGA.
The governor who was represented at the ceremony by the head of local government administration, Barr Dickson Ikhane, charged the security agencies to step up measures towards eradicating criminal activities in the locality.
The governor disclosed that measures have been put in place to make the state uncomfortable to criminal elements noting that more people have been trained across the senatorial districts to combat the menace.
Responding on behalf of (ESSN), the sector commander, Victor Dongo appreciated the governor for the gesture, assuring of their determination to justify the confidence reposed in them.
He said, “The provision of these motorcycles by the governor will no doubt, boost the morale of my officers and men in the discharge of their duties. Security is every body’s business as it is not limited to government alone. Intelligence gathering is key in tackling crime. This is why this magnanimity of Mr. Governor is apt and laudable and it would help us deliver more on our mandate”
