Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has said his administration would provide employment, execute people-oriented projects and ensure the people participate actively in governance.

Oborevwori gave the assurance on Tuesday at the inauguration of projects executed by the Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government Area, Hon. Possible Ajede.

The projects were inaugurated by the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, and they included an ultra-modern market in Amai, a modern Palace for Okpala-Uku in Obiaruku and a befitting Legislative Arm Office Complex in Obiaruku.

The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, stated that it was a thing of joy to witness the inauguration of projects executed by the council chairman.

According to Oborevwori, “I am happy because local government councils in our dear state have embraced the culture of executing people-oriented projects as the tier of government that is closer to the people at the grassroots.

“The people are happy with these projects because they are need-based projects in line with my administration’s agenda of giving M.O.R.E to the people.”

He observed that a few days ago, during the Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAC) meeting in Asaba, 22 local government councils got approval to recruit primary school teachers, clerical officers, and watchmen.

Sen. Dr. Okowa, before inaugurating the projects, called on Deltans to continuously support those in government because they would be given MORE.
