Residents of Polokor in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, have lamented the stench from a decomposed dead body unattended to for several days.

Speaking with newsmen yesterday Tuesday 22nd of August, Tega Fole, a resident said karma caught up with a young man during an unsuccessful attempt to steal someone’s mobile phone.

Irate youth from the area gave him the beating of his life and tied and burnt him on the spot and since then the body has been left on the road and the worst thing is that the body is very close to the Polokor Market he lamented.

Ufuoma Oke, a trader in Polokor Market said the thief got what he deserved, though he never supported jungle justice but the bigger problem now is how to get those concerned to dispose of the decomposed body.

She said, the offensive odour has been increasing by the day and if not taken care of it can reduce sales in the market as customers will go elsewhere because inhaling the offensive stench could have great health implications for them.

The traders complained that the situation is already affecting their business negatively because the decomposed body is very close to the market and some customers have been complaining while some that can’t stand the stench just leave without buying anything.
