Super Eagles defender, Ola Aina, made his debut appearance as a starter for Nottingham Forest in their friendly game 1-0 defeat against Dutch side PSV Eindhoven last Sunday, at Philips Stadium in Eindhoven, Netherlands.

The 26-year-old made 21 appearances for Serie A side Torino last season registering 1 goal and 1 assist before making the switch to England this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

Aina made his return to the Premier league with the Reds last week on a year contract after spending the last two seasons in Italy with Torino.

Notwithstanding, he will have the chance to make his Premier League debut for the Reds in their opening game of the new campaign against last season’s runner-up Arsenal away at the Emirates stadium

The Super Eagles star officially made his debut for the Tricky Trees as a starter before he was replaced with Neco William at half-time.

Amazingly, Nottingham Forest manager, Steve Cooper, has commended Aina following his debut appearance for the club.

Speaking to Forest TV in the post match interview, Steve Cooper, praised the Super Eagles right back’s performance.

“It’s was good to get Ola on the pitch, I thought he was excellent and showed some really good moments,” Cooper said.

It is pertinent to state that Aina is now the third Nigerian player after Taiwo Awoniyi and Emmanuel Dennis plying their trades for the club.
