Afrobeats singer Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, professionally known as Wizkid or Big Wiz, once again set the pace for other artistes as he surpassed 6 billion streams on Spotify, becoming the highest streamed African artist on the music platform.
This was announced by music streams and tour updates platform, Chartdata, on its official social media account on Tuesday.
The ‘Essence’ crooner who recently lost his mother to the cold hands of death has become the first African artist to achieve this milestone on Spotify.
This comes as another win for the Afrobeats maestro as he was recently nominated in four categories including Best Music Video, Best Music Album, Best Live And Best Collaboration at the 2023 Trace Awards.
