Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (EDSPHCDA) with a recently organized staff training, aims at enhancing and transforming healthcare service delivery in Edo.

The primary objective of the training was to equip staff with the requisite knowledge to catalyse a revolution in primary healthcare service delivery in Edo State.
The EDSPHCDA staff training on Ethics, Professionalism, Etiquette, Teamwork Part 2, as well as Quality Management, and Compliance held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Conference Room, Ezoti, Benin City.

The comprehensive training program was divided into two pivotal parts, each addressing critical aspects of healthcare delivery.

Ethics, Professionalism, Etiquette, and Teamwork Part 2 comprised the first part of the training, led by Mr. Johnny Usifoh, with key takeaways to include fostering a patient-centric approach, respecting confidentiality, and treating colleagues and patients with empathy and respect.

Topics such as Telephone Etiquette and Effective Workplace Communication underscored the importance of effective interaction. The cultivation of teamwork was also a central theme, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts in achieving optimal healthcare outcomes.

The second part of the training which addressed Quality Management and Compliance, led by Mrs. Lanre Babalola were centered on quality management and compliance (a linchpin in delivering healthcare excellence).
Compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines was described as non-negotiable ensuring that healthcare delivery meets or surpasses established benchmarks. Effective quality management principles were also explored, with an emphasis on continual improvement and reduction of errors.

These series of training initiatives reaffirm the Agency’s dedication to the well-being of the people it serves. The road ahead promises a healthier and brighter future for Edo people, where primary healthcare excellence will become the norm rather than the exception.

The training was conducted under the guidance of EDSPHCDA Consultants, Mr. Johnny Usifoh, a seasoned HR Consultant and Mrs. Lanre Babalola, a specialist in Quality and Compliance Management.
