The Commissioner for Digital Economy, Science, and Technology, Hon. Ogbeide Ifaluyi-Isibor has said that the Edo State Government is interested in the promotion of tech hubs in the state through meaningful partnerships and collaborations.

Speaking during a meeting with chief executive officers of tech companies and start-ups in his office in Benin City, the commissioner expressed his commitment towards improving, supporting and promoting tech hubs in the state, adding that technology is at the heart of societal developmental across the world, while assuring that the ministry would do all in its power to ensure that Edo State remains a technologically advanced one.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Digital Economy, Science and Technology, Yuwa Naps, charged the members of tech companies and start-ups to be more solution-oriented, using technology to solve pressing technical issues in the state. She further urged them to launch an online business market place where made-in-Nigeria products would be showcased and sold, as this would boost the economy of the state and Nigeria in general.

Responding on behalf of the tech hubs, the managing director, AI Robotics Tech, Abdul-Azeez Ibrahim appreciated the ministry for giving them a platform for positive interaction, explaining that AI Robotics Tech is a robotic training company and a prototype developer that was incorporated in 2018 with the vision of contributing towards the development of the younger generation via its state-of-the-art programmes to train youths on practical technology, focusing on artificial intelligence and robotics in order to empower them for the future.
