A socio-political group, Concerned Edo Citizens Forum, has applauded Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, on the free bus ride scheme for residents in the State to assuage the hardship caused by the removal of fuel subsidy.

The free bus scheme kicked off on September 11 and is scheduled to last for two months.

In a statement by the Convener, Concerned Edo Citizens Forum (CECF), Comrade Roy Oribhabor and the group’s Director of Publicity, Mr. Felix Osas Osagie, said, “We hereby commend and appreciate the Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki for demonstrating leadership in a critical time in the history of Edo State through the provision of free bus rides across the State is a welcome development.”

“The approval of free buses to reduce the stress and difficulties Edo people undergo on a daily basis as a result of the removal of fuel subsidy is commendable.

“The palliative is timely and beneficial. We commend and appreciate the Edo State Government under the leadership and hegemonic disposition of Mr. Godwin Obaseki. The stress Edo people pass through was terrible to bear but the intervention of Mr. Governor has drastically reduced the difficulties. We salute the governor for a job well done.
