The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, and Members of the Association’s board on Tuesday paid an official condolence visit to the Embassy of Morocco in Nigeria, to commiserate with the mission on the recent earthquake that occurred on Friday, September 8, in the North African country whose death toll is now at over 3,000.

The delegation met with the ambassador, Moha Ou Ali Tagma and the Deputy Head of Mission, Mohammed Amane Tiyal.

The NFF entourage includes Babagana Kalli and Ms Aisha Falode.

Others present at the condolence visit were the Special Consultant to the Ambassador of Morocco, Ahmed Shuaib Gara Gombe, NFF’s Director of Communications Ademola Olajire, Chief Protocol Officer Emmanuel Ayanbunmi and special assistant to the NFF President, Abubakar Barde.

Meanwhile, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that Member Associations should observe one-minute silence in honour of Morocco’s earthquake victims at all matches of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification series taking place this weekend across the continent while the fixture between hosts Morocco and Liberia has been postponed.
