Akoko-Edo Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Tajudeen Alade Suleman Esq has commenced the distribution of relief materials to flood victims in the local government area.
The council boss who explained that the materials comprised food items and household equipments, expressed optimism that they would serve the purpose for which they were distributed.
He disclosed that the intervention was at the instance of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Local Government Council, adding that more batches were to be expected, to make up for those who were not captured earlier.
The chairman further said that the distribution was meant for the poorest of the poor who had no one to care for them.
Hon. Alade Esq admonished the people to plan ahead for the rainy season by adopting preventive measures to avert dangers associated with rainfall.
