The people of Ogwashi-Uku in Delta State, both home and abroad, have been called to abide in the culture and tradition of the community for the purpose of development.
The Onihe of Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom, Chief Nwakaego Iloba, made the call when he celebrated the “Ine festival” at Ogwashi-Uku.
He urged the people of Ogwashi-Uku to unite, live in peace and be their brothers keeper, opining that united they stand and divided they fall.
Chief Iloba said the festival serves to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the community as well as a happy reunion of the sons and daughters of Ogwashi-Uku.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Johnson Adenola, at the occasion to celebrate with the Onihe, described him as a peace-loving man, saying that Chief Iloba has the interest of people and his community at heart.
Matron of Holy Child Maternity Home, Lady Justina Enuonye, Executive Director of Reim Orange Global Limited, Chief Ubong Luke, an indigene of Otoro Nnewi in Anambra State, Chief Nnamdi Okafor, Chairman of Tipper Drivers Association, Aniocha South branch, Mr Friday Ani, were among those present at the occasion. They thanked God for the successful celebration of the festival.
