In a bid to broaden the reach of quality healthcare services and reduce out-of-pocket spending for all Edo residents, the Edo State Health Insurance Commission (EDOHIC) engaged stakeholders of the Ambrose Alli University (Clinical faculty).

The Director, Department of Planning Research and Statistics (DPRS), Dr. Owen Omorogbe said the meeting with the stakeholders aimed at coming up with concise resolutions that will help draw up a road map to establish the rendering of quality clinical services at the University’s health facility.

According to the DPRS Director, the Commission brought to the fore, three major points to determine ways and means to drive quality health insurance roadmap for the health centres domiciled in the facility, while ensuring clinical services are rendered seamlessly at the facility with proper data flow and transmission process.

In another forum, the EDOHIC team made a stop at Etsako West Secretariat in Auchi. It was an opportunity for the team to engage stakeholders from all facets of life and keep them abreast with the awesome benefits of the Edo State Health Insurance Scheme (EDOHIS).

While addressing the stakeholders, Dr Owen noted that the state’s health insurance benefits packages, tariffs and premiums are essentially the best in the country; Dr. Owen used the platform to encourage State residents to make good use of the opportunity.

He further stated that the informal sector has four plans namely: The Bronze plan, which is rated at N18, 000 a year, with a benefit of over N1.5million; The Silver plan at N35, 000 annually, with a package- worth an estimated over 2.5million; The Gold plan rated at N68, 000, with a whooping benefit-worth over N3.5million and The most robust plan which is the Platinum plan, rated at N75, 000 with benefit-worth over N4.5million.
