The Chairman, Esan Central Local Government Area, Hon. Paul Iyoha has assured members of staff of the Council of his administration’s commitment to providing them with a more conducive working environment for effective service delivery.

The Chairman, who gave this assurance during an inspection tour at the Council’s Secretariat in Irrua, expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of facilities and offices at the Council. He, therefore, assured the staff that in line with Governor Obaseki’s institutional reforms of ensuring a motivated workforce, his administration would swing into action in providing them with the necessary tools and working environment.

“Today, we decided to go round the Secretariat and see for ourselves what we have on ground to enable us know the next step to take. To some extent, what we see here is not encouraging. The offices are not spacious and we have cases where so many workers try to manage and squeeze themselves into small rooms,” the chairman said.

“When workers have a comfortable working environment, they will be excited to leave their homes and go to work. But in situations where the offices are not conducive, coming to work can become a challenge,” he said.
