General Yakubu Gowon, former Nigerian military head of state has refuted rumours making the rounds on some social media platforms that he is dead.
A number of family sources and close associates of General Gowon confirmed they spoke to him Monday night and that he said he was alive and well and was curious as to the source and reason for the fake news of his purported death’
Born in 1934, Gowon’s 89th birthday comes up Thursday October 19.
