Senator Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Nigerian Senate has called for stronger collaboration and cooperation between Nigeria and the United States. This appeal was made during a significant diplomatic meeting with a delegation from the American Embassy in Nigeria, led by the chargé d’affaires, David Greene.

Senator Akpabio emphasized the vital role that the United States plays in promoting democracy and democratic values globally. He acknowledged the sacrifices that Americans often make to uphold these principles and urged the American government to maintain its role as a guiding influence, as the world looks to the oldest democracy for leadership.

“I am a strong believer in the principles of American democracy, and I earnestly request that you continue to provide assistance to Nigeria and other nations as we progress along the path of democracy,” Senator Akpabio expressed.
