The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) says it has no plan to increase the price of petrol.
The NNPC revealed this in a statement posted on its official X platform on Friday.
The company said speculations making the rounds, that there was a plan to increase the pump price of petroleum products in Nigeria were false and unfounded.
The company said it was giving the reassurance because its attention had been drawn to false and unfounded claims that it planned to raise the pump price of petrol from the current N617 per litre to above N700.
The company said in the statement:“Dear esteemed customers, we at NNPC Retail value your patronage, and we do not have the intention to increase our PMS pump prices as widely speculated.
“Please buy the best quality products at the most affordable prices at our NNPC Retail Stations nationwide.”
