The initiator of Osisi Ugochukwu Rural Development Initiative, Comrade Osisi Ugochukwu Awele, has said that there can be no greater investment in children than investment in their education.
Comrade Osisi made the remarks on Monday when she presented school materials which included notebooks and biros to over four hundred school children of Ewulu Mixed Secondary School, Umuomi Primary School, and Saint Stephen Nursery and Primary School at Ewulu, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta state.
Osisi stated that her “back to school project ” was a project she had been carrying out for the past three years, adding that it was a project that was so dear to her heart.
She added that her major dream was to see Ewulu children go to school, for a better future, adding that it was also the dream of her late father, barrister Theophilus Okwuezulu Osisi.
She said she presented school materials to the children, to lessen the huge burden on the parents and also to motivate, inspire, and empower the young minds to be committed to their studies as they were the leaders of tomorrow.
She used the medium to appeal to the state government to post teachers to the schools in the Community, saying that the secondary and primary schools in Ewulu were seriously lacking teachers.
Diokpa Ezekiel Aboh of Ewulu kingdom, Chief Peter Ikediashi, the Ofime1 of Ewulu kingdom, the vice principal of Ewulu mixed secondary school, Mrs Ifediora Gloria, the headmistress of Umuomi primary school, Mrs Rose Nwagboniwe, Chief Festus Awuta and Reverend canon John Orakwue who were all present at the program, lauded Comrade Osisi Awele for the gesture, adding that she has great interest for the children education.
They said Osisi Ugochukwu has the interest of the Community at heart, adding that she was already emulating her late father’s philanthropic gesture.
