Bafana Bafana of South Africa triumphed over Gernot Rohr-led Benin Republic with a 2-1 win in Group C of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Durban on Saturday.
Notably, with the win, Bafana Bafana top Group C on three points, although Lesotho, Nigeria, Rwanda and Zimbabwe, all on one point each, are second, third, fourth and fifth respectively while Benin Republic occupy bottom spot.
Amazingly, Percy Tau gave Bafana the perfect start as he opened the scoring in the 2nd minute.
Notwitstanding, Khuliso Mudau increased it to 2-0 for the home side in the second minute of added time in the first half.
With 20 minutes to end of game, Benin Republic pulled a goal back through Steve Mounie
Next, Bafana Bafana will go on an away battle with Rwanda on November 21.
