The 3rd Commissioner of the Civil Service Commission (CSC), Chief Akpufuoma Pemu, has charged civil servants in Delta State on hardwork, self-improvement and respect for constituted authority.

The Commissioner gave this charge when civil servants of Sapele origin paid him a ‘thank you visit’ in Asaba.

The Commissioner who welcomed the delegates wholeheartedly, thanked them for coming.

Pemu said that the entry point does not determine the end of your civil service career unless the individual so desired.

“The civil service is designed in a way that whoever wants to improve on his or her academic background can do so after confirmation.

“The service is not also bothered if you refuse to improve academically, but I strongly advise you toe the line of improvement as this will give you an edge over your counterparts,” Pemu stated.

He tasked the members on the need to make themselves useful through hardwork and respect to all those that are senior in the job not minding their age in their respective offices.

The Commissioner emphasized the need for the group to improve on their educational background by furthering their education to enable them get to the climax of the service.

Mr. Best Ogbogbo who spoke on behalf of the group said they were there to thank the Commissioner for his tireless efforts towards the growth of the younger generation.

He stated that the kind gesture of the commissioner had positively changed their lives for the better.

“You are rare in the midst of many as you have constantly given the younger generation the opportunity to fend for themselves freely.

“On this note Sir, I wish to thank you and pray that God should continue to keep you in good health to enjoy the fruits of your labour,” Best said.
