The Edo State Head of Service Football Tournament kicked off on Friday, November 17 in Benin with harvest of goals as
Team College of Agriculture and Natural Resources overpowered Team EDSOPADEC 6-0
The six goals thriller match between College of Agriculture and EDSOPADEC, played at the Western Boys College heralded the maiden edition of the Edo State Head of Service (HOS) Cup for civil and public servants in the state.
The opening match winners, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, with the 6-0 victory has progressed to the next round to face seeded Ministry of Health on Monday, November 20, 2023 at the Western Boys High School Mini Stadium. Kick off time is 3pm.
The HOS Football Tournament which is designed to promote social interaction and physical well being of public servants across various Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs) in Edo State is being played on a knock out format.
According to the organisers, the tourney will climax in the second week of December 2023 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
The18 teams registered for the tournament, include Govt House Football Team, Edo State Sports Commission, Ministry of Physical Planning, Housing, Urban and Regional Development, Ministry of Health, Office of the Auditor General, Electricity Regulatory Commission and ICTA.
Others include EDOSUBEB, Edo State School of Health Technology, Edo State College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Edo State Public Building and Meaintanance Agency.
The Ministry of Mining and Energy, EDSOPADEC, Edo State Fire Service, Edo State College of Nursing, EDOGIS, Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and Procurement Agency are also participating.
