Reports of pre-filled result sheets in the ongoing off-season governorship polls in Kogi State are trending on social media and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it is investigating the matter.

The claims being made on social media platforms are that pre-filled result sheets had been located in the state and that they were part of a scheme by some unscrupulous persons or groups to manipulate election outcomes.

A post by INEC on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, read: “Our attention has been drawn to a report that filled result sheets were discovered in some polling units in Kogi State. The Commission views this situation seriously.
