The Nigerian Senate Tuesday confirmed the appointment of Engr. Chukwuemeka Agbasi as the Managing Director of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), alongside several other board members.
The decision to confirm these appointments came after the submission of a detailed report by the Committee on FERMA to the Senate floor. Senator Babangida Uba, representing Jigawa North West and the committee’s chairman, presented the report for consideration and subsequent confirmation.
Citing the stipulations outlined in section 2(1)(2) of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency FERMA Act of 2002, the committee urged the Senate to confirm the nominations made for the positions of Managing Director and other board members within FERMA.
Consequently, the Senate endorsed the appointments, including that of the Managing Director, in line with the nominations forwarded by the President, Mr. Bola Tinubu.
The confirmation of Engr. Chukwuemeka Agbasi as the Managing Director signals an impending phase for FERMA, promising potential advancements and focused strategies in the nation’s road maintenance sector.
The nominees are Engr. Chukwuemeka Chijioke Agbasi. Managing Director FERMA, Engr. Ibi Terna Manasseh (Member), Dr. Kenneth Ugbala(Member), Sen. Timothy Aduda (Member), Babatunde Daramola (Member) and Hon. Preye Oseke (Member).
Others are Aminu Adamu Papa (Member), Engr. Abubakar Bappa (Member), ACM Shehu Mohammed (Member) and Yusuf Lawal Othman (Member).
