Tanker drivers and commuters plying the ever busy National Ports Authority (NPA) expressway have cried out over the deplorable state roads at various points.

Ammed Yisa, a tanker driver, stated that one needs to be really skilled in driving trucks to be able to navigate around the route as the failed portions around the Effurun Roundabout down to NPA gate are deep enough to cause a truck to overturn.

“We always take time to pass through the bad spots, that’s why we have hold up at Effurun Roundabout.

“Even the bad spot close to NNPC filling station is enough to bring our tankers down as the road has almost been cut into two,” he said.

Another driver who pleaded anonymity, stated that he almost fell at one of the failed portions and that if nothing is done about it now, the inevitable will happen, and he prays the road is fixed to prevent it from happening.

The tanker drivers and other commuters plying the route call on the Delta State Government to prioritize the NPA Express Road as an emergency project to prevent accident which could lead to lost of lives and property.
