Arsenal manager Mikael Arteta has praised Luton’s “remarkable” achievement of reaching the Premier League.
The Hatters, who played in non-league, made history by earning promotion last season.
Today (Tuesday), the Gunners will face Luton at Kenilworth Road in one of the two Premier League games.
In his news conference on Monday, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta conveys his desire for Aaron Ramsdale to remain at the club, despite losing his starting position to David Raya. Raya, who joined on loan from Brentford, has taken over as the number one goalkeeper. Despite being linked with Newcastle, Ramsdale, who has earned four England caps, has only made three appearances for Arsenal since early September.
Arteta expresses his desire to keep Aaron Ramsdale at Arsenal, stating, “I want Aaron with us. I am very happy to have two very, very good goalkeepers and Aaron is staying with us. We aim to improve by adding to our current squad.”
Ramsdale initially started as the first choice for the 2023-24 season, but Raya was selected for the Everton match on September 17 and has maintained his position.
Since then, Ramsdale has been limited to two Carabao Cup games and a Premier League match against Brentford, which occurred when Raya was unable to play against his parent club.
Chris Wilder brought goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale back to Sheffield United in 2020, but he was sacked a few months before the Blades sold Ramsdale to Arsenal. Currently, Ramsdale is not the first choice for the Gunners.
