Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, the Ondo State Governor, is dead, Vanguard reports. He died in Lagos State in the early hours of Wednesday December 27 2023 aged 67 years.
According to the newspaper, he was managed by State House doctors because they could not fly him out of the country due to the state of his health.
Recall that late Akeredolu returned from Germany in September 2023 after about three months of receiving medical treatments in that country. However, he stayed in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State from where he governed his state, Ondo, sparking an outrage from concerned citizens of his state.
A recently brokered deal by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ensured that Governor Akeredolu handed power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa who has been standing in as acting governor.
