Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Christopher Musa, has commended golfing members of the 32 Regular Combatant’s Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy for their foresight in sponsoring a hole at the Calabar Golf Club as a rallying point for their retiring members.

Making the remark while commissioning Hole 7 on the Calabar Golf Course amid cheers from the founding members, the Chief of Defence Staff, who was represented by Major General Adenkule Aregibi, thanked the Captain of the Calabar Golf Club, Major General A.M. Sambo rtd, and other founding members of the group for conceiving the idea, which he said will not only unite them but will also paved the way for them to exchange ideas for their overall well-being

He expressed happiness to be in Calabar to be part of history.

Earlier the captain of the Calabar Golf Club and one of the founding father of the group, Major General A.M.Sambo rtd, said the idea of sponsoring a hole on the Calabar Golf Course with their names written on plaque was conceived last year after their experience in Uganda.

Major General Sambo assured that the hole will be played annually, stressing that any golfing members who plays eagle on the hole will cart home N250,000 (two hundred and fifty thousand).
