As part of process of integration and training of newly recruited primary school teaching and non-teaching staff in Warri South, Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr Michael Tidi, has admonished the newly recruited staff to be passionate about their work.

Dr Tidi said this in Warri when he flagged off a day orientation exercise for the newly recruited 130 teaching and non-teaching staff in Warri South Local Government Area at the King George’s Hall, Warri.

According to the Warri South Council boss, public education system in the country will go into extinction if urgent measures are not taken, while stressing that teachers are no longer serious with their jobs.

The future of the children in primary schools lies in the hands of teachers, he said, noting that primary education is the foundation of all education.

“Take every pupil as yours; this job is not for any man or woman, this is a job for the future of our country,” he said.

Dr Tidi lamented the level of lawlessness in our education system, whereby children in both primary and secondary school engage in cult activities.
