Frosinone Calcio pulled off an incredible shock with a 4-0 drubbing to knock Napoli out of Coppa Italia on Tuesday night, at the Diego Armand Maradona Stadium.

Victor Osimhen features off the bench as Napoli were surprisingly sent parking from the round of 16 of the Coppa Italia Cup competition.

Heading into the contest, the Naples team who are fifth on the league log were seen as favorites to come out victorious against the 13th placed Frosinone.

However, reserve was the case when Napoli were blown away impressively by their visitors who had a different game plan and executed it perfectly.

After an end-to-end race in the opening half with no goal to show for it by both teams, Osimhen was thrown into the fray at the second resumption by coach Walter Mazzarri.

But it was Frosinone who broke through and got the first goal on the 65th minute by Enzo Barrenechea.

The Nigerian gave a good account of himself, but it wasn’t meant to be as Giuseppe Caso netted the visiting team second goal to stun the home crowd.

There were further strikes from Walid Cheddira via penalty and Abdoulrahmane who are both of Morocco nationality, in the closing stage of the encounter to wrap up the resounding win.

The remarkable victory saw Frosinone Calcio qualify for the quarterfinals of the Italian Cup, with Napoli crashing out with their heads down.
