It was jubilation and expression of acceptance by the indigenes of Orio-Ozolua village in Uhumwonde Local Government Area of Edo state as Pa Joseph Osayomwanbo Imadiyi was installed as the tradional head (Odionwere) of the community.

The installation of Pa Joseph Osayomwanbo Imadiyi as the Odionwere of Orio-Ozolua is coming after four years of interregnum, following the passing of the former Odionwere, Pa Jona Aguebor Ekenomaomwan.

The final traditional rites preceding the unveiling of the new Odionwere of Orio-Ozolua village were carried out on Sunday by the representatives of the Benin Monarch and the village elders at the village’s elders court (Ogurdion) in line with the Benin costume as approved by the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty Oba Eware II, the Oba of Benin.

The Odionwere, while speaking during the ceremony, expressed gratitude to God Almighty, the Oba of Benin, and his people for the peaceful process of his installation. He promised to manage the affairs of the community with the fear of God and respect for the people to ensure cooperation and even development of the community

In their separate reactions, Prince Charles Ogiorio, the representative of the Enogie of Orio-Ozolua village and the youth leader (Okaeghele), Fiesta Osasere, said that the people are happy to have Odionwere installed in their community. They prayed for God’s guidance and wisdom for Pa Imadiyi, promising to cooperate with him to ensure peace and development in the community.
