Substitute Samuel Chukwueze had the last say for AC Milan as his winning goal proved enough to earn a 2-1 win over Newcastle United in the Champions League.

Heading into the clash at St. James’ Park, the two teams needed a win to stand a chance of remaining in the elite European competition, with hopes that Borussia Dortmund beat PSG in the other group game.

It was Newcastle who struck first through Joelinton in the opening minutes of the game and the home fans were dreaming of progressing to the knockout stages in their first appearance since 2002-03.

The Magpies could not get further goals to take hold of the encounter as their attacking sound and fury did not amount to quite as much as expected.
