“I am a son of that city, I grew up there, my family and my closest friends continue to live there. I left a long time ago, but my heart is still there and tomorrow I will feel very emotional.” Palladino said.

According to Football Italia, Palladino has been one of the options mentioned to take over as coach of Napoli next season, once Walter Mazzarri’s caretaker role has been completed.

He shot to fame at Monza and is only under contract until June 2024, so in theory, he could already start to work on a potential deal.

Roma, Milan, and Juventus have also been linked with Palladino, who is only 39 years old.

Despite being from Naples, the former striker never actually played for Napoli, instead representing Salernitana, Juventus, Parma, Genoa, Livorno, Benevento, Crotone and Monza.
