Tanzania suspended her national team coach, Adel Amrouche, after he was handed an eight-match ban by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

BBC reports that the sanction was imposed after officials of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (RMFF) complained to CAF about remarks made against them by Coach Amrouche.

The two countries clashed on Wednesday in Group F at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, with Morocco winning 3-0 after Tanzania had its player Novatus Miroshi sent off the pitch.

Meanwhile, a statement from the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) said it has consequently suspended Amrouche after the coach’s comments about “Morocco having influence in CAF to manipulate the match scheduling and officiating.”
